Our Legacy
Terra Cotta Vineyards was established in 1996 by Paul and Donna Roberts on 53 acres of rolling countryside near New Concord, Ohio. With a vision for creating a welcoming destination for wine lovers, the couple planted five acres of grapevines and lovingly built their vineyard and winery from the ground up. Over the years, Terra Cotta Vineyards became a special place where visitors could enjoy award-winning wines, scenic views, and the warm hospitality of its owners.
The Roberts’ dedication to winemaking and the local agricultural community earned them recognition throughout Ohio. In 2014, they received the Resource Conservation Award in the Agricultural Division from the Muskingum Soil and Water Conservation District for their conservation practices at the vineyard. This recognition reflected their commitment to caring for the land and preserving the natural resources that helped make their vineyard thrive.
In 2019, Paul and Donna’s contributions to Ohio’s wine industry were recognized with their induction into the Ohio Wines Hall of Fame, one of the industry’s highest honors. Having been involved in Ohio’s wine community for more than three decades, they helped strengthen the industry through their work as vineyard owners, winemakers, and advocates. Paul’s wines earned several state and regional awards, while Donna served as secretary of the Ohio Wine Producers Association for more than a dozen years.
Through their hard work, passion, and commitment to Ohio winemaking, Paul and Donna Roberts established Terra Cotta Vineyards as a cherished destination for wine enthusiasts and visitors alike. Their legacy is part of the broader story of Ohio’s growing wine industry, and their contributions helped leave a lasting mark on the local community and the state’s wine-producing heritage.
